FAQs

What am I getting with Eco Baby Diaper Service?

With Eco-Baby Diaper Service, you are not just getting cloth diapers. You are purchasing a service. You are also receiving weekly pick-up, cleaning, and delivery of your diapers and any other diapering supplies that you may need, right to your door. If there is anything you would like Eco-Baby to include, sell etc. just shoot us an email! We love customer feedback!

Where is your delivery area?

We currently service parts of Collier and Lee Counties. We will be adding delivery areas as we grow. Feel free to call to find out if we currently service your area or when we expect to.

How do I use cloth diapers?

Since cloth diapers are not mainstream (yet!) Many people are intimidated by using them. We will help you become confident in using your new chosen diaper by giving you a consultation at your home on your first day of service.

Where Do I Keep My Soiled Diapers?

Use  the waterproof liners to line your diaper pail that your diapers are delivered in. Place soiled diapers into the bag that lines your pail. Please shake any solids into the toilet. We make every effort to return personal items which may accidentally get put in with the diapers. However, we cannot be responsible for their return or the condition in which they may be returned. Please avoid putting plastic bags, plastic diapers, disposable wipes, etc. in your bag as they can cause damage to our equipment. Be sure to turn in all of your soiled diapers each week. If you have any clean diapers left over you do not need to turn them in, just hang onto to them and keep them in your diaper rotation.

Do I need to be home when you drop off the diapers?

You do not need to be home to receive your diapers. Just place on your doorstep and we will exchange them for a new batch every week on the designated day. We like to make our deliveries very early in the morning to avoid traffic which leads to more gasoline consumption. It would be best to leave out your diapers the night before or by 7:00 a.m. on your delivery day.

How And When Do I Pay?

Like most rental services, Eco Baby Diaper Service requires payment in advance. To begin service, we require 4 weeks payment. After that, we bill monthly with invoices going out about a week before your payment is due for the following month. We accept payment in cash, check, PayPal and accept all major credit cards.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No, you may cancel at any time. Simply let us know before your last delivery and we will pick up all diapers and bags. Please note that there will be a charge for each diaper not returned.

What if my delivery day falls on a Holiday?

We will deliver as usual on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If your delivery day falls on one of these holidays you will be notified in advance of the holiday delivery schedule.

Can I use them when I go out?

Today’s cloth diapers are so easy to use that anyone can put one on. Just bring a waterproof wet bag out or provide one for your caregiver. All they have to do is toss the diaper in the wet bag, and store until you get it home and can throw it in your diaper pail. It's that easy!

How many diapers will be delivered each week?

You will receive 80 diapers your first week for newborns, 70 for baby, and 50 for toddlers. Newborns are 4-9 lbs, Baby 7-28lbs, and Toddler 25-40 lbs.

The starting number of diapers are delivered week 1 and week 2. From week 3 on, we will return only the number of diapers you returned the week before. If you find yourself needing more than the delivered amount of diapers, we are happy to increase the quantity for a nominal fee.

What are Snappies? Should I use them?

Snappi's are the modern version of diaper pins. Using them will hold the diaper on your baby more snugly and will minimize or prevent poop from staining the cover. Some parents love them, some don’t. Eco Baby Service provides 1 Snappi with start up kit – additional Snappi's can be purchased from us for $3.95 each.

What is a diaper cover?

A diaper cover goes over the unbleached, organic prefolds Eco Baby Diaper Service provides. It prevents leaks and keeps baby's clothes dry. It has Velcro tabs that easily fasten the cover onto the baby to make a snug fit. We recommend either thirsties, bummis or diaper covers and sell them on our online store.

How Often Should I Change My Baby?

Regardless of what kind of diaper you use, you should change your baby at least every two hours. Changing frequently greatly reduces the chance of diaper rash. Bacteria begins to form as soon as a child wets or soils, and leaving a diaper on a baby for prolonged periods can not only produce irritation but compromise the skin to the point of serious infection. The chemical dryness of disposables has produced a great lowering of standards in baby care because parents are led to believe that as long as the diaper feels dry, it's all right to leave on. It isn't! Dry does not mean clean, and the urine absorbed by the chemicals used in disposables stays right next to a baby's skin. (As do feces, which are a tremendous breeding ground for noxious bacteria.) Chemicals are not a substitute for the attention babies need, and "set-and-forget" diapering is not healthy.

Do you have a referral program?

We sure do! Current customers will recieve 1 free week of service when they refer a friend to our service (after their initial 4 weeks of service) as our way of saying thanks :).

Can I use cloth diapers at my Daycare Facility?

More and more daycares and Montessori schools understand the benefits of cloth diapers and are supporting parents’ use of cloth diapers by using them in the facility with your supplies. Usually they require that you provide your own wet bag so they can return your diapers at the end of the day. Ask your provider to give it a try. Let us know what we can do to help support you in this. Don’t give up on cloth simply because your daycare is resistant! Give us a call and we’ll help find the best solution, including a complimentary orientation at your daycare.

How do I cancel service?

When potty training is complete, or you are no longer in need of our service, please call our office one week in advance to discontinue service. On the last service day, please put any clean diapers with the soiled. This way we will get a full count of diapers returned. If all diapers are not returned you will be charged the full retail price of each diaper.
If cancelling for any other reason, please let us know! We are here to make a difference in our community and want to make sure our service is the best for our customers. Let us know how we can improve, we love feedback!

Can I use cloth diaper's at night?

Of course! There are many ways you can double up babies nighttime diaper. We recommend using fleece liners or doublers along with a wool cover. We actually highly recommend using wool covers for night time instead of the PUL covers (thirsties, bummis etc). Wool covers help circulate the air through the diaper thus creating a breathable environment for your babies bum, helping to prevent diaper rash.
